Call for T+I Co-Chair
The AIANY Transportation and Infrastructure Committee (T+I) is seeking applications for a new co-chair. With over 200 members and growing, the committee focuses on planning, architectural design, technical, and policy issues related to transportation and infrastructure, including systems and civic facilities to accommodate marine, aviation, and land-based transit, as well as energy, water, and waste distribution networks. It is the mission of the committee to examine the architecture of, and to advocate for design quality in, transportation and infrastructure projects.
This position is available due to the “retirement” of Rob Eisenstat, FAIA, per new chapter rules. Visit the committee website to review leadership, programming, advocacy efforts, and the design awards program that have made T+I the recipient of four AIANY Vice Presidential Citations.
AIA members interested in serving as co-chair can apply by sending a copy of their CV and a 250-word cover letter outlining their interest in the committee, why they feel suited to lead it, and in what direction they hope to take it, to Joseph Corbin, jcorbin@aiany.org. Please specify “Transportation and Infrastructure Committee” in the subject line. Apply by April 7, 5:00 PM.
Call for T+I Director of Communications
T+I is also seeking a Director of Communications to liaise with committee leadership and AIANY in support of the committee’s programming and advocacy initiatives. This volunteer position is responsible for supporting committee processes including internal communications and record keeping, managing the T+I site, and contributing to program and advocacy reports. This leadership role provides ample opportunity to engage with chapter-wide initiatives while serving alongside colleagues who share an interest in advancing the mission of the committee.
Members interested in T+I’s Director of Communications role should submit a short statement of interest along with a CV to the co-chairs, Robert Eisenstat, reisenst@panynj.gov, and Jeff Dugan, jdugan@dattner.com, as well as the current Director of Communications, Jessica Morris, jessica@modusopcrit.net. Please specify “Transportation + Infrastructure Committee” in the subject line.
