As we continue to prioritize how to enhance our communications channels, we have started to think strategically about Oculus magazine. From its birth as a one-page AIANY membership newsletter in 1938, Oculus has evolved into a quarterly magazine exploring issues relevant to architecture practitioners, circulated to more than 8,000 subscribers. Today, we look forward to this continued evolution as we explore the magazine’s redesign.
After being at its helm for 13 years, Kristen Richards, Hon. AIA, Hon. ASLA, will be stepping down as editor-in-chief of Oculus. We thank her for her dedicated service to the Chapter and the Center for Architecture, and hope she will remain an active supporter of AIANY and the Center for Architecture’s missions and activities.
While we evaluate candidates to fill a more expansive, long-term publications position, we are delighted to announce that Alan G. Brake, opinion columnist at Dezeen and former executive editor of The Architect’s Newspaper, will serve as guest-editor for our next two issues of Oculus. Welcome, Alan!
