In the midst of the current Coronavirus crisis, New Yorker State and New York City are adjusting their policies and procedures. These administrative shifts reflect the need for greater social distancing. Below are some of the more notable policy changes agencies are pursuing:
- NYS Office of the Professions: Relaxation of continuing education requirements for those licensees whose registrations are due to renew March 1-June 1, 2020.
- NYC Department of City Planning: Suspension of all City Planning Commission meetings and all land use decision-making, including ULURP.
- NYC Department of Buildings: Limitations on in-person meetings with agency staff, though some services will continue in-person.
- NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission: Accepting online filing of all permit applications.
As the crisis progresses, AIANY will keep its members updated of relevant policy changes affecting their practice. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Adam Roberts, Director of Policy, at aroberts@aiany.org.
