The Triboro Corridor is a proposal for the dual repurposing of existing freight train lines as a passenger rail system linking together the outer reaches of Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. Re-conceptualizing existing right-of-way and adjacent spaces, The Triboro Corridor creates a linear park and greenway along the proposed corridor improving community health, a bike “superhighway” for commuter and recreational use, mixed-use space for skill development and job creation, and an integrated stormwater management system that decreases current prioritization of car infrastructure through the reduction of road widths and parking.
