This multi-disciplinary hub links experts and activists in food policy, nutrition, ecology and urban systems with West Harlem and Nourishing USA. An onsite local greenmarket is fed by “food barges” which collect and distribute fresh produce, while active and open flexible spaces facilitate community, education, and research programs. The water’s edge serves as a test bed for ecological restoration, its design compressing the typical tidal section into a series of stepped experimental restoration plots and a tidal pool.
