The Cummins Engine Company selected Deborah Berke Partners through an invited competition to transform a four-acre block in downtown Indianapolis to provide a high-quality work environment for their employees and support the resurgence of downtown Indianapolis. Functioning as the company’s global distribution business headquarters, the project includes an office tower, conference center, retail, and extensive public green space. The design is concentrated along Market Street to further define the “street wall” east from Monument Circle and to give this new Market East District greater presence and character. A sculpted tower, with its inflections and projections, adds a striking landmark to the city.
