Women in Architecture (WIA) Recognition Award 

Have you achieved licensure between December 2022 and December 2023? The Women in Architecture Recognition Award honors one recently licensed woman architect who demonstrates strong leadership skills and a commitment to the growth and advancement of our profession.

The selected recipient receives a $1,000 stipend towards travel and miscellaneous expenses at the AIA Conference on Architecture, which will be held in Washington, D.C., on June 5–8, 2024.

Award

Eligibility
Eligible candidates must have achieved licensure between December 2022 and December of 2023, live in the New York City area, and be a member of the AIA New York Chapter.

How to Enter

  • One essay of not more than 500 words describing your leadership role in the professional community
  • Resume
  • 2 letters of recommendation (from different practices and/or organizations)
  • Proof of licensure
  • Photos to illustrate your leadership commitments and contribution to the professional practice and community (a plus)

Submission Deadline
The submission deadline is January 8, 2024. The entry package must be submitted as one pdf file (max 6MB) to WIA@aiany.org

Announcement
The winner is announced during the WIA Annual Holiday Party on January 25, 2024 at the Brickworks Design Studio.
