1. How do I become an AIA member?
If you are an architect licensed in the United States or another country, or are currently pursuing licensure, you can apply directly with AIA National.
2. Can I join AIA New York locally and not join AIA National?
In most cases, no. However, if you are an undergraduate, graduate, or PhD student, an architecture-affiliated professional, or you are an AIA member already assigned to a different chapter, then you can join through a local application.
3. How do I renew my membership?
The billing cycle for all membership categories runs on a calendar year. You should receive your renewal invoices by November 1 of each year.
4. If you are an AIA National member you can renew by logging into your account at aia.org.
If you are a local member and have not received your invoice or need a new copy, please contact membership@aiany.org.
5. How do I look at my continuing education transcript?
If your AIA membership is in good standing, you can view your transcript by logging into your account at www.aia.org.
6. I’m missing credits from my continuing education transcript/ I never received my certificate of completion. Can you help me?
If the credits you are missing are from a course you attended at the Center for Architecture, please contact ces@aiany.org. If the course you attended took place elsewhere, please contact the course provider directly.
7. Does AIA offer healthcare or life insurance?
