AIANY Program Committees are the foundations from which the chapter positions itself in the field of architecture, whether through discussion, advocacy, policy making and development, or other endeavors. Committees initiate the majority of the chapter’s programs and are the main avenue for direct involvement with AIA New York. Preferred co-chair candidates will have shown strong involvement with the committee, a commitment to the committee’s goals, a clear vision for the future of the committee, and good communication and management skills.

The Historic Buildings Committee (HBC) seeks to continue the dialogue and education about New York City’s rich variety of historic buildings and districts through programming at many different scales: symposiums, lectures, tours, and committee meetings. Additionally, HBC participates in review and testimony before the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission through the AIANY Policy Board.  Applications must include a 250-word maximum letter of interest and CV sent to skaba@aiany.org with the subject line, “AIANY Historic Buildings Committee Co-Chair Application.” Deadline extended—apply by 9/3!
