This innovative project is the first certified Passive House in NYC. At its onset, Fete Nature knew that the firm would need to have an integrative design approach to reach Passive House standards on an 1899 rowhouse residential building. The process of design and studying the various slab, wall, and roof building envelope options led the firm to reach out to colleagues around the world to learn how they worked on their deep energy retrofit homes. This research eventually became a book about 18 case studies of recent passive house residential projects.
